CAG Round 5
Warming & Cooling Center Feasibility Assessment, Implementation Plan, & Communications Strategies
The Town of Sullivan contracted with HCPC to assess the feasibility of identified locations for a warming and cooling center, determine needed improvements to the most feasible location, and develop an implementation plan with improvements needed, improvements desired, and potential funding sources. In addition to these deliverables, HCPC convened a task force to develop a chain of command, chain of communications, operational processes, and communications (including postcards, social media posts, and a webpage) for the Town to advertise the availability and services provided by the warming & cooling center.

Schoodic Area League of Towns (SALT)
The Town of Sullivan contracted with HCPC to facilitate and formalize the Schoodic Area League of Towns (SALT) as well as conduct an inventory of member towns’ EMS structures/capacity and explore alternative models. SALT was first formed in 2001 following the close of the military base in Winter Harbor and was revived in recent years with HCPC facilitation support and the participation of Sullivan, Sorrento, Winter Harbor, and Gouldsboro. Through this project, HCPC facilitated seven meetings of SALT, collaboratively developed the group’s governance structure and strategic plan, conducted an inventory of current EMS conditions, researched alternative EMS models, and began planning a Hancock County Emergency Management Event set to take place this fall.
